An Entrepreneurial Summer
Spend next summer living the startup life in beautiful Silicon Valley
Overview
Imagine spending your summer in beautiful Silicon Valley living with other entrepreneurial students and working with an amazing software startup. Startup House provides an incredible working and living environment for students interested in entrepreneurship, technology, and opportunity. This is the second year of our program, and we'll have a community of the best and brightest Bay Area interns!
Why Work for a Startup?
As an employee at a startup, your work has a huge impact on your company's offering. While your friends are working on optimizing an interface maybe only 10 other people will ever use, you will get the chance to make design decisions that will affect the workflow of thousands of customers. You will get to work on projects that have real, tangible impact on a company's bottom line, and you will learn how to identify those design factors in your own future work as well.
What We Provide - An All-Inclusive Package
Job Placement
We will find you a position with an exciting Silicon Valley startup in your area of interest. We work with a variety of firms across the valley in all kinds of industries from media and e-commerce to business intelligence systems and beyond. Most positions include a competitive salary that you'll be able to negotiate directly with the company.
Housing
We arrange housing at competitive rates with fellow program members. You'll live in a house with 5-10 other program members, forging strong friendships and lasting connections that you'll always be able to draw on. We also help arrange transportation options including carpools and rentals, ensuring that you can get around the Bay Area with or without a car.
Programming
In addition to living and working with other entrepreneurial students, we have planned a summer of fun activities, programs, workshops, and events that will connect you with the startup community. Events include:
- Intimate dinners with entrepreneurs and venture capitalists
- Contests such as an Elevator Pitch Competition and Venture Weekend
- Fun outings to San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area such as paintball, a day at the ball-park, and nights on the town
- Mixers at some of the hottest growing startups in the Bay Area
- Personal mentorship and training from a seasoned software veteran so you can ask for advice on projects for work or fun

Steven Arcangeli
Steven is a Senior at MIT pursuing Computer Science. Last summer Startup House placed him with Mint.com doing data analysis. He's currently figuring out what to do after he graduates. He enjoys fire poi and American Jiu Jitsu.
